Office Data Management has recently released version 1.04.
This version of Document Manager introduces the very popular and very requested “Folder within a Folder” (FIAF) feature. Using FIAF, you are now able to group your folders in new ways to make finding and organizing your documents faster and easier than before! You can have a folder named “Invoices” and have your customers each have their own folder. Furthermore, within that folder, you can have as many folders as you wish, and those folders can have as many folders as you wish, and so on!
To use the FIAF feature, simply right click on a folder, and go to “Folder Properties”. From there, you can see all the folders listed. Check the folders that you want the folder to be a sub-folder of and click “OK”. It is that simple. You can then go into that folder and see your sub-folders listed. Just double click the folder you want to go into to browse to that folder.
When you are adding a new document, you are presented with the normal “Add Document” window. You can see all your folders listed in the list on the left. If you have a sub-folder, there will be a + symbol next to the folder. If you click that +, it will expand the folder and you can see all of the sub-folders. Then you just select which sub-folder you want to put your document into.
There have also been some other features requested that we have added to this release as well. This release of Document Manager includes:
- Folder in a Folder
- History tracking of folders (up a folder, back button)
- Store toolbar settings between sessions
- Ability to Restore files from a local folder
- Miscellaneous speed enhancements and usability improvements
